Head Chef – Full-Time, Year-Round Position at Ilsetra Hotel
Are you an experienced chef ready to take the lead in a dynamic kitchen surrounded by stunning Norwegian nature? Ilsetra Hotel is looking for a Head Chef to join us full-time in a permanent, all-year-round position starting in September.
This is a hands-on role where you'll lead a team of dedicated chefs, oversee the full food operation, and ensure top-quality experiences for our guests—from breakfast to dinner.
Your Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a kitchen team of approx. 5 chefs
Plan, prepare, and oversee meals for breakfast, lunch, conferences, dinners and events
Take charge of food ordering, stock control, and supplier follow-up
Maintain high standards for food quality, hygiene, and kitchen routines
Be operationally involved at least 80% of the time, with 20% dedicated to administrative tasks

Staff accommodation available in the start, but it is expected that you find your own place to live after a couple of weeks.

Who You Are:
A trained chef with leadership experience and excellent kitchen skills
Confident managing a team and running a professional kitchen
Experienced with buffet, 3-course dinners, à la carte, and large-scale catering
Experience with stock management and kitchen admin
Fluent in English (Norwegian is a plus, but not required)
Hands-on, responsible, and solution-oriented
