Nofima has a vacant postdoctoral position associated with the Department of Nutrition and Feed Technology which will commence in Spring 2025, and with a duration of 3 years. The place of work is Bergen and involve short-term work assignments in Ås and Sunndalsøra.
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic colleague to work in the Research Council of Norway funded project, OsmoProtect: Dietary and cellular osmolytes in protecting Atlantic salmon skin from pre-disposition to winter wounds.
The project aims to understand the osmotic physiology underlying the skin health challenges faced by farmed Atlantic salmon especially during winter. You will be involved in fundamental and applied research to (1) Understand the physiology underlying the onset of winter wounds in Atlantic salmon. (2) Devise dietary strategies that will help protect Atlantic salmon skin from predisposition of winter wounds.
You will have the unique opportunity to address key issues regarding the nutritional significance for Atlantic salmon skin health exploring a frontier research area at the interface of fish nutrition, physiology and health science disciplines.
