The Department of Economics invites applicants for a tenured Associate Professor position in Macroeconomics/Finance with research interest in the intersection of Macroeconomics and Finance. The position is a general research position that includes teaching and administrative duties. Associate Professors with tenure may apply for promotion to a professorship according to the guidelines of the Faculty of Social Science.

Candidates must meet the research requirements for a tenured position as outlined in the regulations governing appointments to tenure-track positions at the Department of Economics
The successful candidate is expected to initiate and lead research, supervise, participate in teaching and assessment at all levels (BA, MA and PhD) in macroeconomics and finance, and to carry out administrative duties in accordance with the needs of the department.
The assessment of applicants is based on scientific merit, research potential, teaching experience, research leadership, administrative experience, and personal qualities. Successful candidates should have a strong research profile and the ability to establish and lead research projects. The candidates must have teaching qualifications that are compatible with the department's teaching obligations and programmes. They must further demonstrate potential to contribute to the department's long-term academic development, and have a research profile that is compatible to that of the department. Personal suitability will be emphasized.
It is expected that the candidates contribute to a high standard of collegiality and the department’s working environment. Residence in or close to Oslo is expected.
Successful completion of a doctoral degree is a prerequisite for taking up the position.

A candidate hired in a tenured position is required to become an independent user (CEFR level B2) of Norwegian, Danish, or Swedish within the first two years of employment. Moreover, a candidate hired in a tenured position is expected to acquire sufficient knowledge of a Scandinavian language to participate actively in all the functions the position entails within three years. The University provides language training.
Applicants who do not have basic pedagogical competencies must acquire such within the first two years of employment.
